  The main focus of our research group is on the understanding of the mechanical behavior of materials at the nanoscale with the emphasis on the development of nanocomposites for high strength, light weight structural applications as well as for energy device applications with enhanced reliability. The project that I have been doing in KAIST was High Strength Metal-Graphene Nanolayered Composite. Metal-graphene nanolayered composites are known to be ultra high strength and fatigue damage tolerant due to the presence of the graphene interfaces. Large scale fabrication method for metal-graphene nanolayered composite is currently being developed to allow for a variety of engineering applications. I have participated in fabrication of metal-graphene nanolayered composite using roll-bonding method and analyze the microstructure and mechanical properties. Show less
