  The Student Affairs Committee serves as the focal point for discussions on a wide variety of issues concerning undergraduate and graduate student life at Clark. The committee will function as a place where students can bring their concerns and have them discussed. Major issues concerning student life, such as judicial policies, will also be discussed in an effort to keep trustees informed and to ensure the policies and procedures are understood and supported by the Board.   Responsibilities: Training will focus on (but is not limited to): core supportive skills, anxiety, depression, trauma, de-escalation skills, helping someone who is suicidal, helping someone have a panic attack, responding to mental health issues at Clark, boundaries and recognizing limitations, helper self-care, and resilience. After completion of trainings, students will be responsible for sitting duties for “walk-in hours” in a designated space on campus (typically one 4-hour shift a week) on weeknights between 8pm and 12am. Two PSW’s will work together each shift to ensure the safety of PSWs and act as backup if needed. PSWs will work in tandem to Clark’s system of emergency response if needed (e.g. CPG, CPG After Hours, Dean of Students Office, and University Police). Show less
