My role as a Wildlife Biologist with Chu Cho Environmental has given me the opportunity to contribute to a variety of different projects in both research and the private sector. Chu Cho Environmental is wholly owned by Tsay Keh Dene Nation and I have the great privilege of working in such a beautiful territory. I have conducted habitat assessment, lichen biomass surveys, invasive plant surveys and environmental monitoring work. Wildlife Biologist

Monitored Ontario's bat species. Trapped, processed, tagged and banded Eastern Small Footed and Little Brown Bats throughout thr province! Drove acoustic transects all over Ontario to record calls and gather dats regarding species and number estimates. Mapping plant succession on the Wainfleet Bog in Port Colborne, Ontario. Continued work on a successional project (20 years ago, 10 years ago, current) to record plant species abundances and growth. Identified, collected and recorded plants within historic plots. Equestrian Ranger

At the Zajac Ranch for Children, I was a camp counsellor for children with chronic, life-threatening and debilitating conditions. My job included stable maintenance as well as leading a cabin group of children and youth. The equestrian responsibilities included daily feeding and horse turnout, grooming animals as well as administering medications when necessary. I worked in a team of four people and cared for 8 horses and various barnyard animals. As a regular counsellor I would be assigned a weekly group of approximately 8-10 children or youth with various disabilities. Each week would be specific to a certain illness such as children on the Autism Spectrum, youth from the Canadian National Institute for the Blind or individuals with Down Syndrome. Each week and each disability had specific protocols, accommodations and behaviour management techniques. Show less
