Collaborate with regional business development teams to attract and retain high net worth clients in the diverse and multicultural markets for over 15,000 Financial Advisors. Volunteered in the African American Men of Westchester's Annual Business Skills Competition hosted by Morgan Stanley in Purchase, NY. The event, in November 2015, brought 17 high schools from New York's Westchester County together to compete against each other in a competition to judge teamwork, business knowledge, and presentation skills. On January 18th, I joined a group of Morgan Stanley colleagues to talk about financial literacy to Middle and High School students in Brooklyn. The event, which was part of Public Allies NY's annual MLK Youth Leadership Conference, took place at Mott Hall Bridges Academy in Brooklyn, New York on Martin Luther King, Jr. Prior to this, I gave a seminar to a 6th grade class at The School at Columbia on the Economic Cycle.

My primary duties included maintaining communication with retirement plan providers, creating marketing material, manipulating Excel spreadsheets, and conducting a research project. One of my long-term projects for the summer was to deliver a questionnaire to gather formal documentation for the bi-annual audit review. I oversaw the project from the beginning to the collection of the questionnaires. This project involved reaching out to plan providers and scheduling a time to discuss the requirements of the questionnaire. After the discussion, I sent the questionnaire as well as occasional reminders about the questionnaire's due date throughout the summer. I also recorded the communication regarding the questionnaire and answered provider's questions. Another one of my long-term projects was the creation and delivery of a Commission Questionnaire. The questionnaire was created utilizing Excel macros, form features, and functions. I also over saw the delivery and receipt of the questionnaire, answering any questions along the way. After all the data was gathered, pivot tables were used to help analyze the data. In terms of Marketing material, I created an enrollment presentation for plan participants that outlined the importance of beginning an employer-sponsored retirement plan. I also created the drafts for the July and August Retirement Matters Newsletter that is sent to Financial Advisors and home office. The research project investigated the difference within the Baby Boomer subgroup, particularly as it relates to these subgroups in retirement. The research involved determining what, if any, differences exist within Baby Boomers, how those differences were created, and how these differences affect their outlook on retirement. Show less
