  As part of the OEGW (Office of Electricity, Gas, and Water) Natural Gas & Pipeline Safety section, I am assigned tasks related to the pipeline and transportation of natural gas, and other liquids including petroleun. my duties include reviewing pipeline design and safety plans for construction, reconstruction, upgrade, downgrade, through a process called Letter of Intent mandatory submitted by all pipeline operators. I also engage in analyzing data related to pipeline failures, hard rule making for the New York State equivalent pipeline code and regulation, investigating utility projects and excavations damages and near damages through the enforcement of16 NYCRR part 753. as a pipeline safety engineer, I have to complete trainings and certifications WITH PHMSA, a U.S DOT section specialized in Pipeline and Hazard Material Safety, that would qualify me to be also a field investigator, for auditing, overseing narltural Gas utility pipelines projects, such as plastic fusion, welding, corrosion control, pressure, regulators, and pipeline damage repair.
