Working as a program naturalist allows me to always be learning about the world around us. Each new interaction, whether it be with a preschool class, a senior's center or a visitor to the nature sanctuary, allows me to share my curiosities. My favorite part of the job is seeing the "ah-ha!" moment after a productive conversation about a misunderstood species. Looking at you snakes and spiders! Initially hired as a tour guide before progressing to the role of outreach/assistant manager. Roles as a manager included developing an outreach program allowing for schools and daycare groups that may not normally be able to see these animals to have a hands on informative experience.
