Under supervision of Dr. Christopher A. Bristow and Dr. Fangyang Wang • Adapted DeepSTARR (predict enhancer activity from short DNA sequences) on human H3K27ac chip-seq data to examine if an enhancer was universally activated (“housekeeping”) or specific to DOHH2 (“developmental”). • Through transfer learning and Bayesian optimization with early stopping, housekeeping and developmental enhancers obtained precision, recall, and AUC of 0.55, 0.10, 0.82 and 0.53, 0.14, 0.56, respectively.

Under supervision of Dr. Meng Li (https://meng.rice.edu) • Processed MIMIC IV data for dynamic prediction of acute kidney injury after cardiac surgery in 48 hours based on 12-hour sliding window using LSTM. Achieved accuracy, balanced accuracy, AUC of 0.777, 0.758, 0.822, optimized by Ray Tune. Compared result with ensemble models by AutoGluon. Prep manuscript for publication.

Performed cell clustering on metabolic flux and correlation analysis of metabolic flux. Team contribution: • Performed differential flux analysis. Detected 10 novel metabolic clusters. Observed higher lactate secretion & glycolytic metabolism in TNBC TCGA samples & scRNA-seq clusters. Revealed glucose metabolism’s positive association with estrogen receptor, cell-cell interaction, signaling pathways in breast cancer and negative association with prognosis in TNBC. Show less
