I waitress at El Cortijo Taqueria in Burlington Vermont, which involves waiting on tables, bussing, running food, greeting and seating guests, and handling take-out orders. The restaurant is a small operation, there only being one server and one bartender working at a time, so this job has taught me how to multi-task and function under pressure, all while giving the best customer service possible. I worked at East Bay Grille for four consecutive summers, starting the summer after I graduated from high school, and I chose to leave after this past summer (2022). My first two summers I worked three to five days a week as a busser, which involved clearing and resetting tables, assisting the waitstaff, and cleaning the dining room and bathrooms at the end of the shift. East Bay Grille is a high-end seafood restaurant on the Plymouth waterfront and gets very busy during the summer, so this job taught me how to keep up with a high volume of tasks at a quick pace. After two summers of getting to know the restaurant and the menu, I requested to train as a waitress, and I spent my last two summers in this role. I enjoyed earning more money as a server, but also benefitted from the interpersonal and time management skills that come with being a server (interacting with customers, managing the duration of their dining experiences). I currently waitress at a different restaurant now, allowing me to build upon these skills and my work ethic. Show less
