    • Assistant Director for Transitions
      • Aug 2022 - Present

In my role as Assistant Director, I oversee the planning and execution of all orientation programming, including Summer Orientation and Welcome Week for first year and transfer students and their families. I advise over 250 orientation leaders through these programs to welcome up to 1,300 new students at a time. Our orientation programs focus on academic success, fall course registration, community building, along with understanding Creighton’s Jesuit mission and identity. In collaboration with campus partners in the President’s Office, Academic Success, Student Success, Mission and Ministry, along with Student Life, I provide robust transitional programming for all student populations including first-generation, commuter, and distance students. These transitional programs also center around the transitional experience of leaving college and preparing for life beyond Creighton’s campus. Creighton First is a program targeting first-generation students on campus. In collaboration with a student intern and Student Success, we provide first-generation students with a peer mentor, academic and campus resources, and community to aid in the transition, success, and retention of first-generation students at Creighton. Additionally, I oversee our Family Weekend which welcomes over 1,200 guests to our campus each fall. In this role, I work closely with Omaha and campus partners to showcase our campus community and the Omaha area through programming, community engagement, and more. Show less
