I highly recommend Kailee for positions within any organization that needs to take data and make it into decision ready analytics. I've worked with many data scientists and programmers, most are pretty good, Kailee is excellent and in the highest tier. She is as smart as they come, extremely quick to pick up very complex ideas and methods, is very professional and polished (we interacted with very senior executives almost daily), focused on finding and recommending employer priorities, and is very good to work with. I'd hire her again and again.

Kailee worked as an intern for our Expense product management team over the summer. She was a great addition to our team. At the beginning of the internship we gave her a very complex and rather open ended project that involved audits, compliance, and risk management. She did an excellent job in breaking down the problem into a series manageable chunks. She conducted interviews with various stakeholders, influencers, and decision makers; forming hypotheses and asking insightful questions. She was able to deep dive on several aspects, leveraging her experience with machine learning in particular and how it may be brought to bear. Her final strategy presentation was very insightful and complete, especially given the subject matter. It will serve as a platform for us to build off of as we continue developing on this particular area of our product. She would be a great hire for any software development, product management organization.

During my time at ModalAI, I was hands-on testing CPUs on drone flight decks. This involved investigating and resolving an adb reboot bug within the secondary kernel and generating a Python script that leveraged a reboot relay device to run for multiple days, collecting data and testing the adb solution. In addition, I wrote a suite of quality assurance bash scripts and integrated them into the continuous integration workflow in Gitlab, using a testing library called Robot Framework. Finally, I migrated public Gitlab instances to a private instance hosted on a Google VM. Show less

As a Teaching Assistant for the Department of Mathematics I ran discussion sessions where I taught students techniques to solve Calculus problems and ground theory with application. This required extensive preparation, leadership, communication, and problem-solving ability. I consistently received high reviews, with many students commenting that I was the best T.A. they had ever had and was the only one to explain problems in an understandable way. In my role as a Data Scientist at the Center for Analytics at the Department of State, I contributed to the success of the Coronavirus monitoring project and the Afghanistan evacuation project. While on the Afghanistan effort, I generated a suite of Python code that was platform-agnostic, flexible, and tested, to cleanse incoming data and port it over to MS SQL Server. This saved valuable time and allowed more accurate tracking of the location and processing of evacuees. While on the Coronavirus effort, I maintained existing scripts, generated new tests, and migrated existing Python scripts to Azure Databricks. In addition, I creatively optimized a sub-optimal process for tracking which employees were onsite, not only saving each department 5 minutes a day, but also greatly improving the security and integrity of the process. In my role as a Product Developer at the Force Readiness Analytics Group at Naval Aviation, I worked directly with Naval Aviation to identify pain-points and develop solutions. Towards the end of the project, I managed Deloitte team of three, facilitated client meetings, utilized Agile Scrum methodology, and owned end-to-end deliverables using Tableau, Python, VBA, and SharePoint development. Throughout the project, my products were directly recognized by the highest-ranking officer in Naval Aviation, the Air Boss. Over the course of a year and a half, I individually created 15 Tableau workbooks, containing 37 dashboards, with over 10,000 views leveraging millions of records of data to save countless hours of work and generate new actionable insights to optimize mission readiness for the fleet. One particular workbook led to a nearly 30% decline in unanticipated flight aborts.Internally at Deloitte, I won first place in Deloitte's Blockchain and Ethical AI Hackathon. Code for my team's Ethereum + IPFS secure photo repository project can be found here: https://github.com/KaileeMadden/Deloitte-2021-Blockchain-Hackathon. I also wrote and published an article to the internal Deloitte AI Journal on Topological Data Analysis as a data science technique. Show less

During my 10 week internship, in my role as a Product Management intern, I collaborated across departments, teams, and countries to gather input and insights for an automated anomaly and fraud audit product. This included evaluated potential machine learning solutions, generating cost-benefit analysis for each implementation method, creating personas and user stories, writing scripts to test the feasibility of checking receipt photo metadata, and defining the major phases of product development. A 10 week iXP internship program at SAP SMB, during which I worked on two projects. For one project I looked at opportunity conversion data and provided analytical insights as to which attributes of the opportunities could distinguish converting opportunities from those likely to be discontinued. This involved cleaning the data, then investigating trends. In addition, I performed logistic regression in Python to predict whether an opportunity would convert to a deal or be lost. The general insights and the ML model were part of my final deliverable. The other project involved analysis and study of campaign effectiveness using WBS code structures and underlying CRM data. For this project I generated two deliverables, a template to walk through the creation of WBS codes, and a guidebook to explain WBS codes, their purpose, and how to best utilize them. At the end of the summer I presented to senior leaders about my work, and won the intern final presentation competition for the SAP SMB group. Show less
