I was also the head of risk management function and responsible for risk management and developing internal risk management system and measures and planning company's risk strategy and combining company's risk appetite to its risk capital. Due to nature of the company ie. being run off life insurance company my responsibilites were also planning stratetic alternatives for run off company's future steps, being project leader on insurance portfolio transfers and responsible for negotiating financial terms of transfers. From my point of view my work at Suomi Mutual was completed at the end of year 2016 when the last one of Suomi Mutual's insurance portfolios was transferred to OP Life. It was an interesting and quite probably once in a life time journey for me.
