  The journalistic landscape is changing rapidly: new relationships between journalists and the public, publishers and cross-media platforms are challenging existing working and revenue models. New ways of telling and publishing journalistic stories are constantly being sought, partly fueled by technical possibilities. Within the Journalism and Responsible Innovation research group , we look at these challenges through the lens of emerging technologies. We wonder how developments in artificial intelligence (AI), virtual or augmented reality (VR or AR) influence journalistic roles and practices. We also explore which journalistic skills and mindsets are required for the meaningful use of these new technologies. This concerns not only technical, but also ethical skills. We are also investigating, under the heading of People-oriented Journalism, how we can involve the public more intelligently in the journalistic research, editing and production process. Finally, we explore existing and new journalistic roles and practices through research by design. Show less
