Experience

    • Senior Test Engineer
      • Aug 2012 - Present

      • Performed tuning of IMPATT diode operating at W band with 6 degrees of freedom to achieve Frequency, Power and Compression pulse requirements. • Evaluated the performance of IMPATT diode e.g. frequency, power etc. from different wafer lots, as a result, couple potential working diode lots have been found. • Performed the final tuning and the Acceptance Test Procedure in accordance to ATK requirements of the Transceiver with the IMPATT diode across temperature.

Served as core member of multi-functional team responsible for Active Protection system (APS) and EFP detection radar system development. -Tested, evaluated and recorded data of Ka and V Band sensors performance from chip level (measuring the gain, conversion loss, frequency range etc. using spectrum or network analyzer) to the completed front end (measuring the sensitivity for different distances) in APS. -Implemented of different MMIC chip carriers including VCO, LNA, Mixer, Coupler and etc. from design (including simulation using CST Microwave studio), to layout, to prototype fabrication. -Assisted in setting up live test range environment, collected High Speed Camera (Phantom) data and calculated the speed of the threat from camera data for APS. -From analyzed the power budget, assembled the prototype system from individual RF components, to perform testing, evaluating and optimizing of 2GHz EFP ground detection radar using Arbitrary Waveform Generator (as a source to generate different sweep waveforms using MatLab programming). -Measured (using 2-axis gimbals system and FMCW Radar) and simulated (using CST) the Radar Cross Section (RCS) of different type of targets. -Measured the pattern and evaluated different kinds of Antenna including Horn, Microstrip patch, Parabolic Reflector, Rat-Race antennas and etc. used in radar system and designed Loop antenna for wireless video. -Performed over 100+ hours in prototype MMIC chip carriers manufacturing on LPKF PCB cutters. -Performed wire-bonding on different MMIC chip carriers using both wire and ribbon bonder.
