The key to any successful new company is a strong foundation. Kafilat is a major contributor to our ability to build that foundation. Her experience, knowledge, and amazing attention to detail allowed us to build a complex financial model which addressed every aspect of our business. What's even more amazing is Kafilat’s willingness to provide advice and updates long after the project was finalized. We are so grateful for the opportunity to have worked with Kafilat and look forward to a long and continued relationship. She is an incredible member to any team/organization and I highly recommend her.

Kafilat stands out with brilliance, passion, grit, and results all in one individual. When I worked with Kafilat at a time when our team was new and rapidly evolving, Kafilat was a reliable energy on the team and demonstrated an ability to inspire others to be their best. She considered nothing unattainable, all she needed was a brief and one could confidently consider the job done. Her enthusiasm and willingness to seek solutions to the next problem is evident in her ability to break down complexities, design ingenious processes, and effectively manage iterative ones. With an ability to learn quickly and deliver to time, Kafilat is an immensely valuable member on any team.

As part of my role, I underwrote new commercial real estate deals with complex debt and waterfall structures, using financial models that I developed and honed over time to improve accuracy and efficiency. The deals spanned multiple asset classes including self-storage, senior living, multifamily, mixed-use, industrial and hotels. I also helped the funds' management team and advisory committee gain complete visibility and understanding of the financial performance of the assets in the portfolio. By creating monthly dashboard reports of current financial performance, our team was able to make timely decisions that kept the facilities on track to achieve their set goals. Show less

During my time as a Risk Analyst, I honed the analytical skills that has been the basis of my career as an Analyst. I got the opportunity to analyze a wide range of investment opportunities and financial projections to identify risks and to ensure the investors would be sufficiently compensated for bearing those risks. It was here that I developed the ability to sift through an incredible amount of data to find the root cause of business problems and the ability to design and implement efficient and effective solutions. My very first foray into the world of data analytics was my summer internship at the United Kingdom's Office for National Statistics. As part of my dissertation for my Masters degree, I was required to help the ONS, who were, at the time, planning to conduct a national census. They needed to figure out what the staffing requirement of the census field operations. With an array of constraints and requirements, it was the largest and most complex model I ever built. It was scary, exhilarating and so rewarding. I fell in love with analytics and modeling and haven't looked back since. Show less
