CVE ambassador
-
Jan 2013 - Dec 2014
As a Continuing education ambassador, my role was to participate and help at events aimed at Veterinarians to help further their knowledge. Events such as equine cardiorespiratory course, Small animal ultrasonagraphy course, Surgery Q & A, webinars and many more were held by the Murdoch CVE department. It was a valuable experience to be able to attend these events and also lend a helping hand to the CVE team. AVA student representative
-
Jan 2012 - Jan 2014
Being the student AVA representative meant being the stepping stone from the Student population to the Veterinary profession. It meant both representing the profession at University and increasing awareness to students about the benefit of the AVA and of being a member. I attended the AVA WA board meetings where many agendas were discussed. This role enabled me to attend the Veterinary conference in Canberra in 2012 and attend the Policy advisory council meeting whilst there. Furthermore, it allowed me to network and meet Veterinarians in the profession and gain a valuable insight into the graduate world. As part of the role, I helped plan and manage many events at University that were sponsored and held by AVA. Including lending a hand at both the Canberra conference and the Conference here in Perth. I also held presentations for the younger years of the Veterinary School to pass on knowledge about what the AVA is, what it does and how students can get involved with the profession before they graduate, as well as promoting membership of the AVA
