Supporting the revision and update of WHO guidelines and briefs on self-care interventions for health and well-being. Promoting the guideline among UN agencies, Ministry Officials, and civil society stakeholders at global, regional and country level. Providing technical support to WHO country offices in Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Burkina Faso for rapid introduction and scale-up of self-care interventions for SRHR in national health systems. Tasks included supporting development and monitoring of workplans, policy development, stakeholder engagement, developing tools and strategies for behaviour change as well as monitoring and evaluation. Identifying opportunities for tracking progress in developing and adapting WHO self-care policies and recommendations. Successfully included self-care indicators in the 2022 global Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (SRMNCAH) Policy Survey. Articulating the role of self-care interventions for SRHR to support (i) health systems and (ii) people-centred care in fragile and humanitarian settings. Coordinated an expert meeting on advancing the role of self-care interventions for SRHR in fragile and humanitarian settings. Developing a self-care competency framework to guide health and care worker education programmes.
