Interned at KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) in the operations business unit. I spent time at one of their highest footfall outlets, where I observed the highly efficient and well organised manner in which KFC conducts its daily operations. In addition, the opportunity allowed me to engage & interact directly with customers giving me invaluable insights into customer behaviour. I also provided a wonderful new product suggestion in my recommendation report which would be a guaranteed success based on the pallet of the target market. Show less

During my internship at Emirates NBD, the largest bank in the Middle East region, I worked in the retail banking business department. I collaborated with the cards team on a major project – the launch of the Emirates NBD Dnata World MasterCard credit card – a partnership between two industry leaders to launch a unique cobranded credit card that appeals to the affluent income group. My assignment was to assist the Cards Head in tasks that would help in the launch of this product. I conducted research on credit card features & benefits that appeal to the affluent market in order to develop a product that is relevant to the target market. I monitored competitor activities and collated data on existing products that would compete with the cobrand product. I designed questionnaires and engaged with more than 200 individuals to collect feedback, which was utilized to evaluate the product’s potential for success if launched into the market. I then delivered a presentation on my market research findings to the Retail Cards Business team at Emirates NBD. In addition to this I interacted with several employees at dnata by designing a questionnaire that helped me gather information which was used to launch an incentive scheme for frontline staff at dnata.
