Katie has been involved with Night Heist from the beginning. She was just a volunteer in our first semester, but her leadership skills and guidance caused the team and faculty to believe she would make an excellent leader on the team. She was swiftly promoted to the position of art director on our team. Once she became a full-time member, she was paramount to building up our art team into a group of high-functioning team members who were able to deliver consistently. As an environment artist, Katie's work was often above the quality we expected. The rooms she worked on were very distinct and helped solidify the layout of the level and flow of the game. Her understanding of set dressing was exceptional and helped elevate the level to feel more realistic. She was often very patient with teaching the rest of the team about the details of the art pipelines and wasn't hesitant to speak out about anything she was concerned about. In the workspace, Katie was a joy to be around and would actively go out of her way to great everyone every day and always inquired about their week. Her bright smile and personality helped illuminate our team space.

Katie is very energetic and hard working. She goes out of her way to learn many new skills and is very good at collecting resources that are helpful for her and others to learn. She is very intelligent and organized. Her positive attitude and enthusiasm is highly contagious when working and interacting with her.

I work closely with the students to help scope their projects based on my knowledge of how long modeling a large variety of props and furniture because I enjoy doing that in my free time!! I also work with my students to show them how to model more complex things for their scenes as well as help them develop a story for their scene. What happened just before what we are seeing? Makes the class more enjoyable for everyone and then the scenes can show a fun story if they decide to do so! * * * This course introduces students to the principles of 3D environment design. Theatrical sets, architectural simulations, and level design are considered. In order to provide students with a broader skill set, this course also presents the mechanics of how to use other 3D animation software, with an emphasis on the unique strengths of the package. Students explore the comparative strengths of different software packages and the impact that this has on workflow. The course emphasizes critical thinking skills and strategies for tool selection. Night Heist is a Networked 3D thief vs. guard game built in Unreal. The setting for the game is in a museum in commemoration of Earth in the 2000's, on another planet. Due to a war with AI several centuries ago a lot of information about Earth's history was lost, making artifacts in the museum in hot commodity and very profitable on the black market! I work closely with designers and programmers to develop the visual look of the game. Making spreadsheets and using Hack n' Plan to keep everyone on our team of 25 in the loop! Assigning assets to artists and watching over the style of the game to make sure we keep on track. I also model a lot of assets for the museum! It's great for me because I use it as an opportunity to build some really cool , diverse artifacts for the museum! The visual style for the museum is gold and marble, very extravagant but the players use the batteries on the walls for abilities causing the lights to go out and the environment turns to a glowing vaporwave environment. I served more than just coffee and sandwiches here. I tried to brighten every person's day that came through the doors! I learned a lot about communication and making connections from working here. It was a wonderful experience! I served more than just coffee and sandwiches here. Planning and budgeting Teen's, Junior's, and Young Explorer's for activities for the summer. Planning for outside events like Barbecue and Showcase where we show off all the awesome games and projects the kids make at the camp to their parents and friends! During the summer I ran front desk off site for the Young Explorer's. Supervised the children as well as my Experience Coordinators. A Co-Op 2D side-scrolling platformer. I was the only environment artist on the team and made more than 300 unique 2D assets. I worked closely with my designers to know what we needed to have for gameplay. The goal of the game is to get from the quiet suburbia into the big city and to school in time to perform your punk concert at your high school. Your neighbors in suburbia don't take kindly to all your punk rabble-rousing and cause conflicts along the way. A Co-Op 2D side-scrolling platformer. #c0ffee Studios is a student game team at DigiPen Institute of Technology that is working on the game Chalk Board. I am the team's Art Director, I am a character and environmental "designer" as well as a prop designer. I design the monsters, the bosses, the plants, platforms, most of what you see in the game. Prop design could be anything from the health or stamina packs you pick up in game . #c0ffee Studios is a student game team at DigiPen Institute of Technology that is working on the game Chalk Board.
