I teach the students math while my co teacher teaches them literacy. I work closely with the other kindergarten teacher in the other class, each week we sit down and plan the lessons for the students. In addition, I prepare lessons not only for math but read alouds and do various learning projects with the students. I have built relationships with not only my students but their families as well. Our parents are always in communication with us. I also take on the role of head teacher when my co teacher is out. I am able to run the classroom successfully with 21 students. By the end of my fellowship I will have gained the experience, techniques, and knowledge to run a successful classroom with the help of observations and feedback throughout the year. Show less
