Specializing in Personal injury, General Liability, Medical Malpractice and No-Fault law. Have appeared on hundreds of compliance and preliminary conferences for personal injury, general liability as well as medical malpractice cases. I am also responsible for building up files throughout the discovery process starting from client intake all the way through note of issue. Highlights include sitting second chair on a Medical Malpractice trail in Orange County, winning motions to renew/reargue and prompting settlement discussions after serving a Defendant with strong opposition papers to summary judgment motions. Currently tasked with handling all of the firms No-Fault cases which require appearances in Civil Bronx as well as various locations when the files are put into arbitration. As such, I have been directly responsible for settlement negotiations, contacting adjusters and keeping track of sums recovered for each client through excel spreadsheets. I have conducted several no-fault trials, and have also been responsible for arguing motions on varying issues such as medical necessity, verification requests and other issues. During this time, I have established a strong rapport with several Defense counsels as well as the adjusters at corresponding insurance companies which has promoted settlement discussions on regular basis. These discussions were highlighted by a settlement of $28,000 on a single no fault file as well as a month in which I was responsible for recovering excess of $150,000 in a singular calendar month, which was the highest amount for the year.

Law Clerk

Jan 2018 - Sep 2018
Worked as a law clerk for solo practitioner Matthew T. Worner. I was responsible with assisting Mr. Worner in all areas of his practice which included drafting summons & complaints, answering motions, filing mechanics liens, handling client intakes, drafting agreements, summary judgment motions as well as extensive legal researching, analysis and drafting. The highlight of my employment with Mr. Worner was a trial in Supreme Westchester where I was permitted to sit second chair. Mr. Worner and I prepared for the trial in lockstep, and were able to secure a judgment for $96,000 for his client on a theory of unjust enrichment. The client was being denied a satisfaction of mortgage for allegedly failing to pay a small sum which was found to have been included within the mortgage payments. As such, we calculated the amount of months in which the client was denied his satisfaction and multiplied it by that sum to come up with the total sum of $96,000 which was then entered in as judgment for the Plaintiff. As Mr. Worner's assistant/legal clerk I was able to get first hand experience on the inner workings of running a law firm.

Law Clerk

Dec 2016 - Jan 2018
Worked part time during the school year and full time during the summer. Worked as part of a motion team in tandem with a very experienced paralegal, under the direct supervision of a managing partner. Our focus was to use motions as a basis to induce settlement which saw a comparative increase of nearly 10% in settlements which was correlated to a comparative increase of over 50 more motions drafted in 2017 than in 2016. One of the highlights included a motion to renew/reargue in which the Judge therein agreed that the initial summary judgment motion should have been granted but for the Judge not misinterpreting New York's rear end law. Drafted and filed summary judgment motions on liability, as well as "serious injury" threshold motions. Over time, successful motions were used as templates for future issues and were thereby incorporated into our system. Responsible for tracking and billing time in a firm system as well as tracking motions.

Bartender

Jun 2014 - Feb 2016
Began my experience as a server, working 5-6 days a week on a full time schedule. I routinely received compliments from customers on my service and professionalism and was a reliable and trusted asset on our team. At the interview, I mentioned to the General Manager that I had an avid interest in bartending, and, as such, I was first in line to apply when a position opened up. After being selected as the new bartender for the staff, I split time as both a server and a bartender depending on the needs of the restaurant. After a month or so, I had gained enough experience where I was trusted to work busy night shifts on my own without the assistance of another bartender.
