Justin is a valuable addition to any IT team. As typical in most IT shops, there's too much work and too little time to accomplish critical tasks and projects. Yet Justin somehow manages to juggle heavy workloads and yet still find the time to help someone out (ie. myself) when a server goes down or starts acting sluggish. Whether he's fighting fires or proactively improving the IT infrastructure, Justin has the knack to boil down what needs to be done in a timely manner. I bridge the gap between Security, Operations, DevOps, Developers, Desktop Support and others like Marketing, to translate NIST 800.53/SOX/HIPAA/HITRUST requirements into language and decisions we all understand. I also consult various groups throughout the day about various items in a secure data center. - Core contributor to Policy/Process team to a successful effort to achieve and maintain HITRUST certification; updating policies, improving process/procedures and implementing new systems to support compliance and auditability. - Organized various security audit tools, such as Qualys, Nessus, Tenable.io, and Splunk ES into standardized reporting. - Created, maintained and report on the vulnerability program to ensure system security across two data centers maintaining active-active connectivity. - Created and maintained the system maintenance process for patching across data centers for everything from Windows down to hypervisor (VMWare) and network layers. - Created, maintained and reported on antivirus reporting and research. - Cross-dept security consulting on numerous subjects from DNS to encryption standards. - Disaster Documentation updates and planning for a business unit - we were very prepared for COVID19 and remote work due to our pandemic plan. - Assisted in implementing RFP and audits support compliance and auditability. - Assisted in AWS monitoring via CloudFront and digging through numerous logs.
