Mar. 2011-PresentLead Operator at Vertex Refining•As a lead operator I direct a crew of three to four operators that includes two outside operators and one board operator along with myself•3+ years of control board & field experience of operating a 700°F and 1,200psi hydro-treating unit and vacuum distillation unit•Ensure everyone in the refinery adheres to all health, safety, & environmental policies and procedures•Supervise the hour-to-hour operation of the Refinery Process by ensuring daily production goals are met in a safe and effective manner,•Communicating the Daily Instructions to the Operations team as outlined by the Plant Superintendent. •Make routine rounds through the Refinery to analyze equipment and process status •Collect & monitor lab results to ensure all products and by-products meet company and customer specifications•Prioritize repair and maintenance schedules of malfunctioning equipment by ensuring appropriate work orders are correctly submitted in a computerized maintenance management program. Verifying isolation of equipment that requires maintenance is done in a safe and timely mannerand is in compliance with company policy. •Experienced in following & writing Standard Operating Procedures•Issue ATW permits and hot-work permits while doing gas monitoring including LO/TO & H.E.I.P.'s•Train new operators on the process and routine duties, that includes control board training and field training•Maintains a safe & clean work environment•Experienced in working a 12hr. rotating schedule
