  My main areas of teaching are studio recording and production (levels 4-7), production analysis and popular music studies (level 5), music industry (level 5, module leader) and individual project supervision (level 6). I am currently writing up my PhD thesis, which is due July 2016, on the creative practice of UK dance music sampling composers 1987-2012. Published research, largely focusing on sampling, creativity and/or copyright, has included articles in the Journal on the Art of Record Production (JARP), IASPM-Journal, Dancecult, and chapter contributions to the IASPM-Norden Music, Law and Business Anthology (IIPC, 2012) and The Creative System in Action (Palgrave Macmillan, March 2016). I was a peer reviewer for Dancecult in 2013 and for the Journal on the Art of Record Production from 2007-2014 and I am currently the Journal’s copy editor. I also organised and hosted the 2010 Art of Record Production conference in Leeds. Show less
