I am writing my memoir about how birth and adopted family and social workers who put me first enabled me to flourish. In my first seven years, I lived in more homes than I can remember, but throughout that time, I had consistent love and support from my birth mother, my sister in England and her family, the family who adopted me and dedicated social workers. This book will be helpful for foster and adoptive parents and children, social workers, and others seeking to make the system better for all children in care. It is also a book with gentle humor that will inspire a general audience--encouraging people to ask how they can help children involved in the child welfare system, and providing answers.
