• Manage approximately 6500 acres of Almond and Pistachio Orchards, including: Working closely with managers and foremen to achieve high yields while keeping to the budgets. Supervise the work and budgets of special projects such as wells, reservoirs, irrigation mainlines, equipment purchases, PG&E applications for services, etc. • Supervise up to 50 diverse employees, both seasonal and permanent. Monitor labor costs per acre and compare to budget requirements. Manage performance of managers and foremen with annual reviews, and maintain employee relationships. • Manage development and repair of agricultural wells, including decisions involving acid washes, vibe cleaning, brushing, swaging, replacing and adding more column pipe and tube and shaft, bowl size and purchasing of electric, diesel, and natural gas engines. • Maintain environmental sustainability by working closely with San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District to build Conservation Management Plans, Agricultural engine compliance, permitting, and diesel to electric/diesel conversions.• Develop and maintain professional working relationships with local agricultural vendors and county personnel. • Develop and implement budgets including fertilizer, irrigation and annual Ranch Operational Costs of about $14,500,000. • Lead purchasing process while maintaining budget compliance, purchasing appropriate assets such as: heavy farm equipment; electric, diesel, and gas engines; irrigation parts; herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers. Review and approve invoices.• Extensive experience with pesticide and herbicide applications, notices of intent, product use reports, and state and county permits. • Work closely with independent pest control advisors on the development of sustainable integrated pest management practices.
