Jim Urbec is a consummate professional. I worked with him many years, during his tenure as Director J6, for a Tactical and strategic operations organization. He was an attention-to-detail, security conscious and network savvy leader. His organization was one of 7, that reported to the Headquarters. His network and security posture were heads and tails above the others. He was responsible for planning and implementing two new networks- ensuring the network, facility, & security posture, as well as scalability. He delayed his departure to see this massive endeavor through. He provided a state-of-art facility postured to sustain the force and meet new initiatives. He is a can-do person! His leadership, knowledge and skills are an asset in any aspect of networking or cybersecurity.

Jim is a communications officer, leader and manager without peer. At Special Operations Command South, Jim managed communications issues for a deployed force of more than 300 personnel at several locations. He and his team accomplished the almost impossible by staying ahead of requirements, correcting problems immediately and always looking for innovative ways to improve an already exceptional operation. Without a doubt, this is the type of leader you give the toughest jobs. I would work with Jim anywhere, anytime!
