June has the distinct honor of writing one of my absolute favorite stories for Southern Breeze magazine while I was the editor in chief from 2006 to 2010. Her task was to write a piece on boiled peanuts. However, what she did was go above and beyond, traversing the better part of northwest Florida (and beyond) just hoping to find random vendors selling these Southern treats. Well, what she turned in was not just a great article for a magazine, it was a hallmark of good Southern storytelling! My only regret was that my art director couldn't find a way to make it the cover story: boiled peanuts may make for good reading but they're not much to look at! Can't wait to work with June again!

June Dollar has a fantastic knack for striking balance with students that makes her easy to approach but also garners both respect and attention. She is able to listen to students and assess what challenges or problems they are facing and then provide them with possible resources. In the world of Student Affairs, it is an every changing landscape of personalities and experiences. June's willingness to stay on top of resources and options for students is extremely impressive. She is willing to reach out to colleagues in the student's specific industry and beyond, something that is hard to come by in the world of Student Affairs. June is the consummate professional, handling details that can sometimes be of a personal nature. She gets the job done and maintains all necessary confidentiality that is required. Yet with this comes a fantastic sense of humor and ability to handle any obstacle that might come up along the way. June Dollar is an asset to students both as a resource for knowledge and career counseling. I would heartily recommend her for any opportunity to share this wealth with students.
