Working in the Governance Unity at United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Kenya. I was part of the team that created and delivered the impactful Amkeni Wakenya project. Amkeni Wakenya was a governance and human rights project aiming at building capacities of civil society organizations to contribute to the governance reforms in Kenya. Premised on implementation of the Kenya's 2010 constitution, Amkeni Wakenya worked with Civil society and other Non State actors in the areas of Decentralization, Human Rights and Access to Justice. Managing a portfolio of over 40 partners and about $12 million in revenue, my role as a program and grants officer included sourcing potential grantees, conducting due diligence, delivering support and monitoring performance of the partners while intervening with appropriate capacity building interventions on identified capacity gaps.
