I rewrote Chrome's spellchecker to accommodate multiple languages simultaneously - one of Chrome's oldest feature requests impacting tens of millions of people. Many people across the world speak several languages but Chrome previously only spellchecked one at a time. This meant people had to constantly switch back and forth between spellchecking languages to check their spelling. I rewrote the spellchecking system to eliminate this problem. Working with another intern, we developed a fuzz tester for MySQL. I predominantly worked on the actual fuzzer application which would spawn MySQL processes, execute randomly generated commands on them, and watch for crashes, in which case it would collect relevant information pertaining to the crash. IT Student Systems Intern
-
May 2013 - Aug 2013
Working in the Product Solutions department with the Centralized Test ID Team, I developed an Excel macro that pulls information from multiple databases and other spreadsheets and then populates a spreadsheet with that data. In addition to the macro, I formulated the requirements and designed and developed a semi-functional prototype for a new tool to be used by the Test ID Team to better manage their test IDs. Outside of the Product Solutions department, all of the IT Student Interns had the opportunity to develop two websites: one for the IT Student Interns and one for the College Interns. I was a developer and designer for the website and worked collaboratively with the other developers and designers as well as content editors and photographers to meet the site's deadline while still making it as advanced and well-done as possible.
