As I completed my coursework for my aquaculture and aquarium science degree, I interned at New England Aquarium's Quincy Animal Care Center. In my brief time there I strengthened my skills in caring for aquatic animals, maintaining their life support systems, and keeping the facility clean and organized. I worked at Roger William University's "wet lab" during my time there as a student. The facility breeds and raises marine ornamental species such as clownfish and yasha gobies. My responsibilities included feeding fishes, cleaning their systems, and performing water chemistry tests. Some other important aspects of the job throughout the day were checking fish health, keeping written records, and cleaning equipment.
