      Eurofins Scientific is active on the laboratory testing market. The company operates in a decentralized manner, by giving great flexibility to business unit leaders in conducting business. The role of ‘Organic Growth Investment Specialist’ aims at assisting the business unit leaders in formulating precise and concise business cases when seeking approval for investments (e.g. opening of new sites). I was recruited to create the role. The Management of Eurofins felt the need to centralize this function (similarly to the M&A strategy which is already centralized) as the company is extensively growing for the past couple of years. My involvement at Eurofins is sequenced in two parts: 1. Creation of the role of ‘Organic Growth Investment Specialist’: (i) diagnosis of pre-existing ‘organic growth investment’ processes at Eurofins prior defining the assistance the role can bring to Eurofins’ network; (ii) elaboration of processes to standardize the Organic Growth Investment recommendation at Eurofins; (iii) creation of a network within Eurofins to build a pipeline of projects; and, (iv) delivery of a couple of landmark projects/quick wins to showcase the value-added of the role to the business leaders. 2. Assistance to business leaders: (i) analysis of investment case; (ii) estimation of investment funding needs; (iii) preparation of investment memorandum; and, (iv) assistance in the presentation of the investment case for budget approvals.
