Currently working on a project to treat a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema using RF radiation and also assisting to manufacture a device to help reduce radiation exposure during medical imaging. During my work term, I was exposed to a variety of tasks, not restricted to mechanical engineering and I took this opportunity to expand my range of knowledge to benefit the company as efficiently as possible. • Actively involved in conducting bench testing to find the optimized set of parameters for hyperthermia on agar phantoms • Interpreted data from the bench tests and analyzed the performance of each experimental setup • Undertook mechanical projects like a wheeled traveling frame for the transport of a Faraday Cage and other tools to facilitate bench testing • Gained experience in documentation and performing basic inspections for quality control • Assisted the production team by machining components for the AEGIS, which is a mechanical shutter aiming to reduce exposure to x-rays during fluoroscopy • Learnt some Python to adjust the GUI of the temperature measurement software Show less
