Worked with Julie for too many years to remember. Always thoughtful, always willing to ffer solutions and fresh ideas to the challenges we faced within the organisation and always a good laugh, which should be a good enough recommendation on its own.

I started with the organisation when it was formerly SCET and provided support to the Assistant Cheif Executive (Alistair Fyfe). An internal move saw me take on the role of developer (Cobol working on SCAMP & CSCAMP Schools and College Administration character based package and its GUI replacement developed SCETWORKS). After a few years another internal move saw me take on the role of Management Information Systems Officer (Modulus, Attain and Navision Attain, SQL and T-SQL query and reporting) I developed, tested, data migrated, designed reports, ran Key performance reports for board. After a few more years and another internal move I took on commissioning cordination and surveying role - Commissioning research and evaluation at a very interesting time in Scottish Education as Curriculum for Excellence was being developed to replace the 5-14 curriculum. I ran the National feedback excersise that surveyed teachers about their view s of the new CfE experiences and outcomes that were developed. There were online and hardcopy questionnaires for all curriculum topics and the exercise ran for a year. The data gathered was then analysed and reported independently by a 3rd party. At this busy time I also carried out a dual role undertaking Knowledge management piloting in the organisation - piloting sharepoint with a range of internal stakeholder areas - local authority key account managers, Chief executive office and curriculum development officers. The pilot also undertook evaluation of a few other KM solutions. A few years later brought another internal move to undertake my current Research and Intelligence role. This includes developing the organisations research and information strategies, carrying out qualitative research, report writing including recommendations for senior management, systematic data gathering, etc... In July 2011 Learning and Teaching Scotland joined with HMIE to become a new education agency Education Scotland. Show less
