  Judge Kathleen A. Forsyth was appointed Circuit Judge, Division 19, by Governor Bob Holden on August 1, 2003. Judge Forsyth worked primarily in the areas of probate and trust law for 15 years prior to her appointment by the 16th Judicial Circuit Court as Probate Commissioner in 1994. During that time, she was affiliated with several large Kansas City law firms including Shughart Thomson & Kilroy, PC, Linde Thomson Fairchild Langworthy Kohn & VanDyke, PC and Spencer Fane Britt & Browne, LLP. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Emporia State University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.Judge Forsyth has served five terms as Chair or Vice-Chair of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association Probate & Estate Planning Committee and four terms each as Chair or Vice-Chair of The Missouri Bar Probate & Trust Committee. She is currently serving on the Executive Committee and Board of the Association of Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City. She is also a member of the National Association of Probate Judges.
