Paola Daniels
I worked with Julie for many years at OCPS. She is passionate about education. As team lead, Julie kept the team updated and also stood up for the team. Julie was motivational and knowledgeable. She was my go to person for lesson advice and never hesitate to model lessons for other teachers. I know she is going places due to her positive attitude, work ethic, and ability to build relationships with colleagues.

Few people have the opportunity to work with such a dynamic colleague who was also a coach and mentor to them—but I did when I worked with Julie for three years. I first met Mrs. Anderson back in 2018 when she served on the committee that hired me. She was team lead of a rather large 3rd grade team at Sadler Elementary School at the time. Though, we worked on separate teams, that never stopped her from sharing a plethora of teaching advice and best practices especially in the area of Math. She is not just all talk, but she "walks the walk" too. She allowed me to come observe her and her classroom as she modeled successful small group instruction and what it could look like. It shocked me, what I saw! The effortless transitions, highly rigorous accountable student discussions at every station, and even the independent use of manipulatives was truly awe-inspiring to watch. Especially considering that they were 3rd grade students with more than 75% of them being ELLs. Talk about setting the expectations high and watch them rise to the occasion. During the 2020-2021 school year, we worked more closely while in her new capacity as a Math Intervention coach. She worked with various groups of students from across grade levels including my 5th graders to help them strive for learning gains and grade level proficiency. The students that got a chance to work with her couldn't wait to see what Math challenges she had for them that day. As an educator and a leader, Mrs. Anderson earns my highest recommendation. Any school would be lucky to have her!
