As the previous Director of Development for the last 6 years, my role has shifted into a more community-centered role as a strategic thought-partner, reporting directly to the CEO and the Chief Programs Officer. As a hands-on and participative director, I am proud to be a part of a team that leads and develops with the director's team to support and oversee the following areas: Center operations, finance, annual planning and budgeting, human resources, volunteer coordination and quality programs and resources for our clients and community members. A well-respected, high impact organization, Compass continues to enhance its quality programming and build the community's capacity. Serve as the Director of Development of Compass Community Center, one of the largest gay and lesbian community center of its kind in the nation , a 501(c)3 charitable nonprofit health and human services organization. Responsibilities include: direct volunteer and donor stewardship while connecting their passion and commitments to Compass while leading various activities related to fundraising in special events such as PrideFest of the Palm Beaches, Stonewall Ball, World AIDS Day, Cocktails for Compass and the upcoming 25th Anniversary of Compass. Develops the work plan activities for the development team and community center while overseeing the business guild of the Compass' Pride Business Alliance membership grow to over 200 individuals and companies. Additionally, Compass' development, case management, youth and families and HIV prevention and outreach teams work together on a daily basis, and in our large and small outreach events, to ensure positive healthy outcomes for our constituents of all genders, sexual orientations and across the generations.Compass's mission is to diminish stereotypes by challenging longstanding misconceptions about the character of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth and adults. We accomplish this by emboldening our youth, promoting pride in our community, and acting as an educator, advocate, health service provider, and focal point for community organizing. Compass is one of the largest community centers of its kind in the nation.

Capital Campaign Manager

Successfully led a team that successfully completed a 3-year $1.5 million capital campaign in 2009, to renovate, operate and maintain a community center and encourage community support and community growth in the downtown corridor of Lake Worth. Responsibilities included: facilitated the raising in pledges, naming opportunities, planned gifts and bequests, while connecting over 250 non profits and community building organizations to Compass by producing large scale outreach events in Palm Beach County.

The intensive four-day non-partisan Candidate & Campaign Training provides skills, tools and realistic campaign scenarios to current and future LGBTQ candidates, campaign staff and community leaders. Victory Institute provides comprehensive, non-partisan best practices to present and future LGBTQ candiates, campaign staff and community leaders. Trainees learn necessary skills and strategies by engaging in tough, realistic campaign simulations, and work with peers to develop a plan to run for office and win.Thousands of openly LGBTQ candidates, campaign workers and other leaders learned how to build winning campaigns through this training, which takes place several times each year.
