Julie has over 15 years experience in the healthcare industry. She has worked in nearly every aspect of the field in some form or another. She started her medical career in the supply department of a private ambulance company stocking and cleaning the ambulances, but after taking a few basic life support classes she decided hands on patient care was not for her. Julie then moved on to answering phones in a high profile orthopedic office quickly moving up through the ranks to billing, authorizations, and referrals. Finding her niche in billing and coding Julie went on to get her professional coding certification (CPC) with AAPC. After nearly 14 years of billing and coding for different specialty providers Julie joined PCG Software, Inc, and was given the opportunity to work on the other side of the spectrum analyzing claims determination for the payer side of the medical claim. In addition to a coding certificate, Julie also holds a professional medical auditor (CPMA) certificate with the AAPC and is certified as a healthcare auditor (CHA) with the American Institute of Healthcare Compliance (AIHC). Julie has extensive knowledge in CMS, Medicaid, and private insurance billing and payment regulations and guidelines. Show less
