Julie has performed every task with excellence. She has shown a great ability to reflect on own experience and formulate it into the education. Furthermore, Julie has contributed to the change process from physical education to an E-learning course. In this process, she has shown an innovative mindset combined with a high professionally knowhow, the E-learning course has been a success and included in obligatory education for all student from Copenhagen University College, who wish to do a semester abroad. Julie is an open and honest person, who effortlessly can relate and communicate with. She upholds all agreements and timelines to a very satisfying degree. On behalf of the association Travel Security for students and myself, I can wholeheartedly recommend Julie and I am confident that she will succeed in any position she will possess. In the need for further information, I am available for further elaboration.

Julie Norgaard spent ten weeks (October 2021-January 2022) with Rural Institution for Community Development (RICOD-Nepal) developing and delivering a disaster cycle management for teaching course at Jana Bhawana Campus, mostly learning about Nepalese teaching techniques and culture. She worked on creating instructional strategies and materials for the kids. Her supervisor, the campus board, and the students all participated in its participatory evaluation, and they all agreed to repeat it for the subsequent phase. She also conducted interviews with locals, visited places devastated by landslides and flooding, and created a case study. She also went to the project's working location in a distant area to watch the nutrition education training and meetings for women. She emphasized that low development, high mortality, and inadequate nutrition from birth are the key issues in the region. I discovered she has abilities in project cycle management, instructor-led instruction, disaster cycle management, and cross-cultural communication. She has shown amiable behaviors with team members, respect for others' viewpoints, analytical abilities, and flexibility in numerous cultures and circumstances during her stay with this organization in Nepal. She is trustworthy and responsible.

First as a instructor, where I executed a 6 hour course, which involved different approaches and preparations for going abroad. After half a year I became course manager and was responsible for hiring, training and coordinating the employed instructors. When Corona hit I took part in developing an online course, that is now used for all studens at University College, Copenhagen. 1) Develop a teaching course including the four elements of Disaster Cycle Management. Conveying it at a local university. This involved an investigative phase, which largely consisted of understanding the Nepalese culture, their school system and then developing learning methods and material for the students. In the end I taught the students, it was evaluated by the organization, the school board and the students. Subsequently, this teaching has been taken further and carried out again for the next students. 2) Two field visits. First to an area which a month before had been hit by a landslide and flood, here I did small case studies and interviews with some of the locals from the area. The second field visit was to the area where RICOD mainly works. Here, at that time, the focus was mostly on teaching women about nutrition, as there were and are major problems with high mortality and underdevelopment due to incorrect nutrition from birth. This means that the society is not particularly robust, as there are not many children and young people, who in this area are responsible for much of the physical hard work. 3) Advise RICOD on their security for personnel and during project activation Show less

Followed the manager of East Jutland's fire service to both internal and external meetings and events. This should provide a basis for me to analyse the organisation and its management. I gained insight into emergency work, political communication, collaboration methods and management tasks. In addition, I took part in 24-hour duty with the incident leader, where I gained experience of being involved in emergency situations.
