I first met Mia Maze at a series of networking events hosted by my other company, Local Business Connections (back when it was called Sapphire Coast Business Networking). After Covid hit in 2019, leaving us with a year of no networking or relationships, we both felt compelled to reconnect with women on the Sapphire Coast and discussed the possibility of re-establishing a women's organisation in the area. As a result, in early 2021, we re-registered the name Sapphire Coast Business Women and formed a Business Partnership. We're currently re-building a women's group in the region together, but with both of us backing the business, it's a much stronger group than before.Mia manages the front of the house, coordinating speakers and driving the business, while I manage the back end, ensuring that everything runs well and that everyone is informed about our events and social media.Mia and I discovered that our hopes and goals were leading us in opposite directions. So in Oct 2021, unfortunately, we decided to wrap up SCBW and we've now continued on as individuals once more.

The ‘Sapphire Coast Business Women‘ (SCBW) began in 2015 with monthly networking breakfasts at Merimbula's The Wharf Restaurant. In December 2015, we launched a website, printed business cards, and began actively marketing the business by visiting a variety of retailers and businesses from Tilba to Eden. SCBW then met four times a month on Wednesdays, rotating between Bermagui, Merimbula, Bega, and Eden each week.2016 I continued to network along the Sapphire Coast from Bermagui to Eden, and the group name was changed to Sapphire Coast Business Networking (SCBN) in November 2016 to allow for mixed networking and workshops in 2017 and beyond.2017 During the winter months, Lunch & Learns were introduced, as well as a highly popular ‘Pamper Me' day and a Small Business Expo. The website was then upgraded in December 2017, along with a change in membership levels. With the new website and regular emails sent out through the data base to over 850 subscribers on the Sapphire Coast, 2018 provided a mix of promotional options for businesses. In 2019, we held a number of introductory workshops on WordPress and Social Media, as well as a handful of larger business events, including a ‘Pamper Me' day and a ‘JUST NETWORKING' social event in the middle of the year. Local businesses benefited from Networking Breakfasts and B2B networking events, which allowed everyone to enjoy each other's company while networking.2020 Who knew our face-to-face networking gatherings would abruptly come to a halt? However, because to my health difficulties and Covid 19, I began working from home and changed the website into an online Local Business Directory. Unfortunately, this grew too large for me to handle on my own. Hiring, due to Covid wan't an option.2021 So, once again, I've rounded a corner and am now striving to help older Australians Get Connected and get on-line. This also allows me to now work at a slower pace so that I can pursue other personal interests as well.

After several years of photographing in New Zealand and Australia, I decided to create my own company, photo123, in 1997.We specialised in school, pre-school, sports, and wedding photography, with up to 15 photographers working across Sydney and the Blue Mountains.During the hectic winter months, we had up to 6 employees, plus photographers, working on the production of our Winter Sports photographs, which were our primary source of revenue. We had built up a well-organized protocol that everyone had to follow in order to maintain uniformity throughout our work. After 17 years of running the company, it was time to sell and relocate to the South Coast, where I could pursue personal interests such as kayaking, walking, swimming, camping, and biking, as well as charity work. The business is still running up in Sydnye, as I write this in 2021
