I worked with Julie from 2014-2018 on the team that launched and grew BASIS Independent Brooklyn (PreK-12 private school in Red Hook, Brooklyn) to over 800 students in just 4 years. Julie is a rare find in the world of K-12 education. As much as she is in-tune with the needs and goals of students and their families (first and foremost), she is conscious of the larger macro goals of key stakeholders in administration and school management. She communicates with different audiences involved in the creation and growth of a school adeptly and with great ease. She could be counted on not only to effectively work with families and drive positive student outcomes, but also to contribute meaningfully and strategically to marketing, enrollment, and communications campaigns. Julie is the type of educator and leader who "gets it." She is highly self-aware, a team player, and has one of the strongest "can do" attitudes out of anyone I've worked with. She builds trust with the people she works with and the families she serves and her ability to coach and mentor would be an asset in any industry or vertical, even outside of K-12 education. She made her work look easy and could always be counted on for inspiring those around her to perform to the best of their abilities.

Julie is a pleasure to work with and has exceptional expertise in program development, school leadership, and coaching. As the Director of Student Affairs at BASIS Independent Brooklyn, she had a wonderful working relationship with peers, direct reports, students, and their families. Her dedication to building a positive school culture/community and leading by example was truly inspiring to those around her. Julie is reliable, motivated, strategic, and has a contagious enthusiasm. Her warmth and approachable demeanor allowed her to foster trusting and meaningful relationships with those who worked closely with her.
