Julie is a very creative and detail-oriented individual. She was able to juggle many different projects and take direction from all angles to get the job done. Julie was always willing to help any other department within our company at a moments notice if necessary. I depended on Julie to take initiative and follow through on any project that was assigned to her.

Once upon a time, Cormac Company was a highly sought-after commercial real estate developer. We developed many exciting projects in and around the Omaha-metro, but we also developed many projects out of state. The pinnacle of our year was the ICSC Convention in Las Vegas each spring. Meeting big-box retailers and doing deals at the daily convention was always a ton of fun, but the real excitement came during the after parties! The Cormac party was the event everyone tried to get into, and were sometimes escorted out of. I was part of the party planning crew during my time at Cormac - securing venues, talent, props, and sometimes exotic wildlife were all part of the fun! But, those parties could never have happened without the meetings, dinners, and deals made at the convention and throughout the rest of the year. As the only graphic designer on staff, each site plan, project portfolio, and even parking lot fell to me to design. I took an Autocad class in the evenings for those more specific and intricate specifications. All of our print and digital marketing collateral were concepted and designed through collaborative meetings and then through my office. It was a ton of fun and I learned so much during my time at Cormac. Unfortunately, like so many other businesses of that era, the recession took its toll and forced Cormac to close its doors. It was a wild ride while it lasted and I'm grateful to have been a part of it.

Fast paced, fun, and fitness! What's not to love about finding the most elite health club in your town and selling memberships through college? I often ask this of college students I know and highly encourage them to follow my example. This position was not only so much fun it never felt like "work", but it also boosted my networking game in a way few others could. In my role in Membership Sales, I got to meet and build relationships with doctors, lawyers, judges, bankers, car mechanics, restaurant owners, and life coaches. You name the profession and chances are I know someone in that industry through my work at PLFC. Not only did I get to interact with so many people each day, but I developed a love for movement, health and wellness which still goes strong today. What happens when you love what you do? You glow! And, you carry that enthusiasm over into everything you do. It's because of this love for life that I rose to the top of my sales team, continually meeting and exceeding my sales goals and becoming a leader in the company - not just my location. I discovered the reward of hard work and commission, and I was often called upon to settle commission disputes at affiliate locations because of my fair-minded approach and because I'm a stickler for the rules. In addition to my sales role, I began taking on additional responsibilities such as training all new-membership hires, our company newsletter - mailed out to 6,000+ members monthly, all in-house marketing (by-hand illustrations), and all monthly "bad-debt" collections. So many incredible relationships were formed during my years at PLFC, with both members and staff. When I gave notice I would be leaving, I was thrown a party complete with a cake which read, "Farewell Favorite One". Some of the best days of my life happened during my employment at PLFC!
