During the time at REL, I taught 9th grade English and AVID. For 3 years, I was the AVID Site Coordinator and AVID elective teacher for a program of 180 students. I served the campus through a variety of committees and leadership roles through the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT), Apple Distinguished Committee, 90th Anniversary Committee, ELA department leader, and student teacher mentor.

During the 13 years at BJS, I taught 7th and 8th grade language arts and Teen Leadership. My Teen Leadership (Flipped Group) program was the first in Goose Creek at the middle school level. I served in a variety of leadership positions including team leader, Instructional Leadership Team (campus level), and Instructional Leadership Council (district level) where I served as committee leader where we made district decisions related to instruction issues.

I was responsible for the daily practice, performances, travel, budget and spending, and recruitment for a group of approximately 200 young ladies in the Corps.

I began my teaching career at CBJ in the middle of the year for a teacher who resigned mid-year. I taught 7th and 8th grade reading and English. I also was cheer sponsor for two years. I only left this position after being sought out by the high school for a position teaching English and as drill team director.
