I have been working in the field of community development for many years and enjoy the diverse nature of the job.I am committed to supporting individuals and communities to achieve their aims, ambitions and aspirations. AmicusHorizon Community Development team support not only our own residents but the wider community and are proactive and innovative in their approach. I currently manage a wide portfolio of externally funded projects aimed at giving individuals the opportunity to improve their future options. The two main programmes are both funded by the Big Lottery for 3 years - Get On Plus - a Personal and Career Development programme and DIY SOS - providing individuals and groups with the practical skills base to improve their own homes, community spaces and employment prospects in the construction industry. Also deliver programmes and activities for Young People, Older People and all those in between! Show less

Initially took on a six month temp contract for direct delivery of personal and career development workshops to women looking to return to work. I saw the huge benefits and changes these women were making to their lives and sought external funding to continue and expand on the personal development training - as well as expanded the team from just 1 ( me!) to 3.
