      • Aug 2012 - Present

I was responsible for assisting Richard Morgan, Associate Vice-President of Development, with his daily calendar. This included booking meetings for him, checking his email, answering his telephone line and being the first point of contact for anyone reaching out to our department at our location of Mackenzie House on campus. I was responsible for running different events for External Relations & Advancement at Trent University. I successfully organized and ran Trent's National Philanthropy Day events in 2012 and 2013 and helped increase our attendance numbers. I also organized many lectures and other donor related events. For these events I was responsible for creating & sending out the invites to all our attendees. I also booked the speakers, audio and visual equipment, location, food, drinks, kept track of the budget and create the speaking notes for the guest speakers. I have also created the yearly publication of the Report on Philanthropy. I was responsible for creating this publication and I brought many fresh ideas to this publication in 2014. Working on this project allowed me to pull together our team's ideas and suggestions and I had to ensure we all stayed on track within our tight timelines. I also built and have maintained strong relationships with our students, staff, faculty, donors, and the community. I was responsible for monitoring our Development budget which was used by many different people. I had to make sure we didn't go over budget and that we always received the best prices with our vendors. I created expense reports and purchase requisitions/orders and made sure they were approved in a timely manner. I also was responsible for managing all of the HR files and assisted with ensuring all employees completed their timesheets on a monthly basis. This is an exciting time for Trent University as we are celebrating our 50th Anniversary! Show less
