Melbourne-based Abstract Expressionist. My Artistic work is ultra-expressive and dynamic, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty and geographical forms and textures of the Mornington Peninsula. The vibrant blues and greens of the ocean come together with the glorious shades of Australian natives, coastal shrubs and tea trees, forming powerful visual rhythms. “I strongly believe that colour can play a significant role in lifting our mood. I love working with iridescent colours that radiate in the light.” I demonstrates her exploration of the flow, physicality and integration of colour, whether it be paint applied by brush, stick, palette knife or direct from the tube to canvas, contrasted with the beauty and simplicity of working with ink on paper. Preferring to work on large scale canvases, I work intuitively. Pieces tend to develop over many days, weeks and months, with time for reflection between each stage. The end result is a joyous blend of fluid work filled with a real visual energy, highlighting a peacefulness of flow or transition of playful dots floating from one into the other, creating pathways of colour.
