Department of Labor Employment Workshop faciltiator/trainer
-
Apr 2017 - Mar 2019
As a facilitator/ trainer in this role I work hand in hand with soon-to-be Veterans to help develop THEIR self marketing messages and THEIR brand. I have the opportunity to train with 60+ separating and retiring military members across all branches and levels each month. This interactive workshop prepares our military members for the transition into civilian employment. As a dynamic facilitator I am able to connect with each participant to give them the tools they need while following Department of Labor curriculum. I offer an insight into hiring managers and business leaders minds through a network of connections I make in each military community I am a part of. By knowing the surrounding business climate I am better able to serve our members by answering the questions that concern them through their transitions. • Deliver 24-hour Department of Labor Employment Workshop to separating and retiring military members from E-1 to O-6 • Facilitate military to civilian transition to include resume, interview, budgeting, and relocation • In-person liaison between contractor and military on-site facility, Airmen and Family Readiness director and TAP management Show less

Independent Contractor/ Local Coordinator

Feb 2015 - Jun 2017
As a local ambassador and coordinator for ETC I was able to organize and oversee the hosting of 15-20 students a year throughout Central Alabama as a part of the Department of State Public Diplomacy program. ETC is a small exchange student company overseeing students from 15 countries from around the world spending four to eight months as a part of the J1 Educational Visa program throughout the US. I was lucky enough to spend several days a month in social environments with our students and their families. As a local coordinator working with our regional director I served as the first contact and conduit of information to families of students during illness, surgeries, behavioral issues, and transitions from host homes. As the ‘parent’ of 5 exchange students from Germany I am proud of the work I was able to do and the impact I made in 50+ lives. • Foster relationships with local school officials and community organizations • Recruit host families for students from 15 nations and 4 continents • Facilitate cross cultural orientation trainings and social opportunities monthly • Promote and market US Department of State citizen diplomacy program • Intermediate and resolve conflicts with students, families, and schools Show less
