While employed by London South East Colleges, I have taught on a range of different programmes including Return to Learn and in recent times Functional English, OCR Business Administration, Level 1 and 3 BTEC Business and Legal Secretarial Diplomas at Level 2 and 3. I have been a personal tutor for five years and deal with the induction process of all new students. The experience I have gained in this role over the years enables me to thoroughly support my students through setting challenging SMART targets to help them maximise their success. As part of my role I work collaboratively within the team to develop appropriate resources. This has been particularly appropriate recently as components of the courses have been restructured and elements have changed. Observations by the Quality Team have confirmed my standard of teaching to be of a high standard and I have been awarded Grades 1 and 2 by the observation teams. I have up to date knowledge of IT (Microsoft office) as well as college IT systems such as Sharepoint, ETracker and Unit E. I am totally familiar with the college’s requirements regarding schedules of learning and lesson plans as evidenced in observations by the Quality Team. I review my courses and resources regularly and update them appropriately and accordingly keep up to date with changes to the courses and assessment processes through development meetings with City & Guilds/CILEx. Through monitoring the media I am able to update myself with changes to the Legal system and with current topics of interest. Equal opportunities and diversity are incorporated into my lesson plans and opportunities utilised in the resources I produce. I am experienced as a course manager and have managed level 2 courses and Functional Skills in my area. Show less
