  Julie has more than 30 years leadership experience in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. Prior to starting her own business, she led annual giving, endowment and major gifts programs for an $8 million nonprofit organization whose work touched one in three residents in a bi-state region of 360,000 people. She also has directed public relations, advertising and marketing programs for both nonprofit and private sector organizations. Julie understands the volunteer experience from both the staff and training perspectives, and serves as a volunteer for a wide array of community organizations. Julie took a two year hiatus from her consulting business to become the first Chief Operating Officer of the Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties. Brewer led the organization during its formation including establishing the organization’s office, staffing and managing all statutory responsibilities. She led the organization as it evolved from a $500,000 to an almost $10,000,000 annual budget and more than $450,000,000 in levy responsibilities.
