Experience

    • Company Director
      • Jan 2013 - Present

Responsible for all Brazilian operations and events management for the seven tier one sponsors we worked with for both the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and 2014 FIFA World Cup™. Main achievements included opening the office in Brazil, setting up partnerships in Rio de Janeiro and other 11 host cities. During this process I recruited and managed over 7 project managers working on projects and strategies for some of the main sponsors of FIFA World Cup, dealing directly with World renowned brands such as Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Sony and Nike in sports activation projects like Players Escort Match, FIFA's biggest activation program. Also responsible for a unique action in the history of the company, prospecting local Brazilian clients and broadening the portfolio of clients. In addition to managing the team, I directly handled two local accounts, making the company's revenue increase considerably. Currently I am also responsible for the financial department in Brazil and prospecting new businesses and local partners for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and reporting directly to the CEO of RPMC Europe. The campaign created through a special pro bono partnership with Ogilvy produced both TV and internet video/messages with important figures such as Oscar Niemeyer, Gilese Bündchen and Paulo Coelho - managing to reach over 6.5 mi people in Rio de Janeiro and showcased many times during Globo´s primetime spot. The campaign culminated with an special month long exhibition called the Future We Want Exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro during Rio +20, which received more than 40,000 people and 8,300 written statements at the interactive space created by myself and the team. During my period as JungleDrums´s owner I transformed a small independent publication into a stronger product and recognized brand that grew into a media group with a mission to "showcased Brazil as an exciting country with a powerful meaning for the British public". From 2002 until 2011 JungleDrums was published monthly (20.000 copies), and during that time I started an internal media agency specialised in the ethnic market which was responsible for producing various events in the UK and bringing some of the most exiting live acts to London. I was at the forefront of all things Jungle and extremely passionate while managing a heavy workload and liaising with multiple areas, my team, suppliers and clients at the same time. I was responsible for directing a team of around 20 people from designers, journalists, photographers, commercial team, distribution team and organising all the finance side of the business. I was also responsible for planing, creating and delivering innovative campaigns, activities and events focused on market share increase, revenue expansion and brand awareness for clients such as Nike, TAM Airlines, Sagatiba, EMI Music, Brahma, Selfridges, TAP Airlines, British Airways, Riotur and the Brazilian government.
