Let me categorize this recommendation into 3 section corresponding to the roles Julianne played during our time together at Mapbox. As a team-member: Someone who brings positive energy every day to the team. Working with her is always a delight as she goes in-depth to tackle challenges and get things done. I am also amazed by the way she organizes information and tasks; setting up priorities every day and making sure nothing gets slipped through the cracks at work. As a manager: I reported to Julianne from a remote office 12 hr away in terms of timezone, yet I never felt disconnected with the team because of her efforts and system that she placed. Her practice of "Servant leadership" has made her a person who leads the team towards the path of success and at the same time feels approachable between ICs. During her time in Mapbox our team has lead a variety of projects and we were able to knock them all effortlessly because of the well-executed planning by Julianne. As a friend: Julianne has been a great resource for good advice. She goes an extra mile to make sure the cultural difference between global teams never affect work. I have seen her support an entire non-english speaking office to make sure they have the context of each and every detail shared with rest of the company. Consider yourself lucky if you get to work with Julianne.

Julianne consistently impresses me with her ability to lead this team. As Mapbox and our team have grown, Julianne has led our way with her organizational skills, attention to detail, and an amazing ability to translate ideas into action - Aligning our individual goals and interests to form a truly collaborative and productive team environment. In a business with a diverse set of ever-changing requirements, our team is able to move forward with clarity under her leadership.
